You Are A Weakling

Friends,
I pray that you all are memorizing Scripture, reading it, meditating on it, soaking yourselves in it. We do not have one day to waste. This apostasy is way bigger than we want to admit, and you will not be able to overcome if you have not now made a practice of hiding yourself in Christ, His Word, and His power. You are going to get sucked into the huge harlot system by having made it a habit for too long of submitting to your own fogged-up thinking, lazy spirit, and self-gratifying flesh.

Can we not see signs everywhere of our freedoms being eroded? Has there not been an avalanche of laws that restrict our right to free speech, free press, and the freedom to express our convictions? And the sad thing is, is that while governments, including the UN and UNESCO and the EU, as well as corporations, businesses, and the public schools and universities clamp down, now even the church has joined the march! If we stand up to even politely disagree, we are told we are divisive and uncooperative. We are told to leave or remain silent. But what if we believe we are to obey God’s Word –such as where it says to warn the wicked man (Ezek. 3:18) or to cast him out of a church? (1 Cor. 5:9-13) No matter. “Group think” is the god now, even in church, and woe to the one who says in this postmodern age that God’s Word trumps the world’s consensus.

Let’s remind ourselves that history repeats itself. Let’s remember that tortures and prisons and gas chambers are not realities of any too distant past. Let’s keep in mind that it was ideologies that were behind the quests for control. Is this not what “the culture war” has been about these last 50 or so years?

Well, righteousness is bowing to wickedness. Many Christian leaders are giving in. The tide is too much for them. Why? Because instead of feeding their own spirits with God’s supernatural Word (that living, active, powerful Word –Heb. 4:12– who is really Christ Jesus Himself –John 1:1,14), they have worn themselves out with distractions. Distractions under the guise of seemingly nobel pursuits and causes such as acts of compassion, charities, recovery groups, counseling, mentoring, discipleship, intellectualism, knowledge, clean entertainment, authenticity, confessing of sins, training in parenting / conflict-management / career and community service choices, etc. And they are tired. And they have no time for the renewal that only God’s Word can bring them. In fact, they too, apparently doubt that Christ and the Scriptures are all we need for true, abundant life.

True sheep of The Good Shepherd, leave the blind guides. Just leave. No, you do not need “community” in order to follow Christ. Whatever happened to the truth that everyone needs a PERSONAL relationship with the Lord?! I guess it too got lost in the tolerance, reinterpretation, lukewarm mud. But anyway, let me encourage you to do as Jesus said to do in Matt. 6:6: “When you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your Father who is unseen.” How many so-called Christians are doing that? Very few. But those who do, get to know the Father. And He will breathe righteous living into that individual and they will hunger for His words and read them. They will become spiritually powerful and know how to discern the times. And when the day comes when they are commanded “not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus” (Acts 4:18), they will say courageously, “Judge for yourselves whether it is right in God’s sight to obey you rather than God. For we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard.” (v. 19,20) Will they be persecuted? Most likely. But hasn’t 2 Tim. 3:12 been promising us for years, “Everyone who wants to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted”???

Practice standing up for Christ now. For “If you have raced with men on foot and they have worn you out, how can you compete with horses? If you stumble in safe country, how will you manage in the thickets by a flooding Jordan?” (Jer. 12:5) No, you will not overcome –if you can’t even do so now.

Know the Word. Know Christ. Know the Father. Be led only by His Holy Spirit.

Sincerely,
with love,
Rachel
