Foolish, Lukewarm Church

It is a sad era. The church (in general) is now so foolish, so compromised, so lukewarm that she thinks she’s doing God favors as she mixes her worship and efforts with the world in the name of unity, tolerance, kindness, and compassion. And this disease only spreads, due not only to Biblical illiteracy amongst parishioners, but even more so because the pastors themselves have either forgotten important Scripture passages or have decided to reinterpret them.

It is indeed a strange occurrence when church leaders, instead of organizing prayer meetings and studies straight out of God’s Word, bring in psychologists, novelists, and/or business men to teach everyone how to grow a bigger church or a “healthier community”. Certainly, the pressure to conform and “do your part” for the sake of the common good is something many crumble under, even if they secretly do not believe the Holy Spirit is in it. But unfortunately, this only proves that many church attendees, while saying they love God and adhere to the First Commandment, in reality have a god that to them is actually more important. This is the god of pleasure. Oh, it need not be the kind of pleasure that one would normally acquaint with hedonistic desires. Instead, this is the pleasure one gets in knowing one belongs. Belongs to a group. Is loved by the group. Is unconditionally accepted by the group… well, if he or she is willing to adapt to the group’s expectations.

Yes, this is now the god of the church. And it oozes into the worshipper such warm, cozy feelings… often even feelings of euphoria… Oh, to be loved, to be accepted, to be noticed, to be affirmed, to be wanted, to be needed… Yes, they love their god who gives them this feeling, this pleasure…

But the LORD says in Ex. 34:14, “Do not worship any other god, for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God.”

And James 4:4 says, “You adulterous people, don’t you know that friendship [or partnership] with the world is hatred toward God? Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.”

And, “I have been grieved by their adulterous hearts, which have turned away from Me, and by their eyes which have lusted after their idols… So will I spend My wrath upon them.” (God in Ezek. 6:9,12)

“This is what God says: ‘Why do you disobey the LORD’s commands? You will not prosper. Because you have forsaken the LORD, He has forsaken you.'” (2 Chron. 24:20) Many teach that once a person has said “the sinner’s prayer”, He can safely disobey God’s Word and still be saved. This is not what the Bible teaches at all. Just one, out of numerous verses, is Ezek. 33:12 where God says, “Therefore, son of man, say to your countrymen, ‘The righteousness of the righteous man will not save him when he disobeys…”

God does not change. There is one right way, ONE correct Gospel. Obedience IS necessary. For “faith without deeds is useless.” (James 2:20) But it is not the deeds some pastor or group intimidates you into doing. The only deeds that are acceptable are those done in the Spirit, those done according to the will of our Heavenly Father. (Matt. 7:21 & 1 John 2:17)

Don’t bow to, conform to, or cooperate with the lukewarm, adulterous church. Have nothing to do with her crowd except to expose their heresies and the infidelities they commit against Christ and the Scriptures. Because sadly, though they think Heaven awaits them (even as they stubbornly refuse to love the truth –2 Thes. 2:10)– they will find themselves to be God’s vomit. For as God says in Rev. 3:15,16, “I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! So, because you are lukewarm –neither hot nor cold– I am about to vomit you out of My mouth.”

That, my friends, is what is about to happen to those who will not separate from this postmodern so-called “Christianity”.

with love,
