Thanksgiving Paves Deliverance’s Way

As this season of Thanksgiving reminds us to be ever grateful to our Shepherd-King, “let us continually offer to God a sacrifice of praise –the fruit of lips that confess His name.” (Heb. 13:15) And in confessing His name, we also exalt above all things His name and His Word (Ps. 138:2), obeying Him in every area; for as 2 Tim. 2:19 says, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.”

The Lord is pleased with our obedience of offering to Him our genuine praises and thanksgiving. In fact, Ps. 69:31 indicates that it pleases God more than any other sacrifice. Furthermore, God says in Ps. 50:14,15,23 that by “sacrificing thank offerings to God”, the way of deliverance is paved.

Once we know these things, may we simply do it. Because not only does it please God, not only is deliverance brought about, but the enemy is routed and the Gospel can be advanced.

So, as we perform those duties the Lord has given each of us, let’s remember the power we hold if we but use the strong offense of T-H-A-N-K-S-G-I-V-I-N-G. And let us do so, not merely with silent grateful hearts, but also with words –in order that the whole spiritual realm will hear and know that we love, appreciate, and are committed to honoring and obeying our marvelous God.
