Advance Christ’s Kingdom

Let’s think about how often we pray, praise, and sing to the Lord. He stoops to listen to these things. He is pleased with these things. He tells us to do these things.

So, do we? Because if we truly believe He has commanded it, and we truly believe He listens and responds, and we truly want to follow His instructions, then we will obey. Action does follow belief. So does that not mean that if we are not doing these things, we should not claim to believe? –And should not claim to be His followers?

But to those who do believe and do obey and do follow, let me encourage us with these reminders:

It has been said that prayer is the mightiest energy in the world. (This is not counting God Himself, of course.) I would add that praise and singing praises to God are right alongside prayer in that. For these three things CHANGE circumstances! Why? Because God has ordained them to do so. He commands it because it advances His kingdom. Whose kingdom crumbles while God’s advances? Satan’s. “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.” (Eph. 6:12) Does prayer, praise, and song seem like a natural way to advance a kingdom and slay enemies? Does the world and its philosophies, wisdom, and counsel think this could topple one king to bring in another? Of course not. But we who are born from above know that God’s kingdom goes by entirely different ways.

Let’s advance God’s kingdom, Christ’s kingdom. And let’s do it in the prescribed way. That way instructed in the Bible. For as Zech. 4:6 says, “‘Not by might nor by power, but by My Spirit,’ says the LORD Almighty.”

“For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of power.” (1 Cor. 4:20) Talk, dialogue, debate, conversation, chatting, twitter, blab… –all of this from man-centered philosophy goes in circles, creates confusion, brings in deception… But, when God’s Word is used, as Isa. 55:11 says, it will go in power. Thus when both His Word and His precepts are put into practice, the spiritual realm obeys!

Advance God’s kingdom with me!

with love,
