Jesus Paid For The WHOLE World

God loves us. He loves His creation. Yes, He is a God of justice, but He is also a God of enormous mercy and love. He has paid a huge price to redeem mankind, to save us from the penalty (and power) of sin. (Rom. 6:18,22) He came to earth in bodily form (Col. 2:9), becoming God’s “only begotten Son” (John 3:16) who paid the ransom for all mankind. (1 Tim. 2:6) For “the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19) but “He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves, in whom we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins.” (Col. 1:13,14) And He did this for EVERYONE who repents and believes this good news! (Mark 1:15)

As Rom. 3:23-25 tell us, “For all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God [God’s presence], and are justified freely by His grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus. God presented Him as a sacrifice of atonement (as the one who would turn aside His wrath, taking away sin), through faith in His blood.” Who were those to whom God extended the gift of redemption? “ALL.” All were redeemed. All were justified freely. Do all take the gift? Sadly, the majority do not. However, the price was paid for ALL. All were bought back. The payment was made in full and it covered all humans. (2 Cor. 5:15 & Isa. 53:6) This atonement was made “for the sins of the whole world.” (1 John 2:2) “For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but TO SAVE THE WORLD through Him. Therefore, ALL who believe and take the gift offered, “will not be condemned; he has crossed over from death to life.” (John 5:24)

Calvinists do not believe this. They deliberately change meanings of common words in Scripture to mean something different. Just one example is how they change “world” to mean “elect”. Thus they rarely will address 1 John 2:2 which actually says, “He [Jesus] is the atoning sacrifice for our sins, and NOT ONLY FOR OURS, but ALSO for the sins of the WHOLE world.” But… denying the clear meaning of this verse, as well as hosts of other Scriptures, they just go right on teaching that instead of Jesus coming to save the whole world, He really only came to save the “whole world of the elect.” What a false gospel! And yet they consistently accuse non-Calvinists of twisting doctrines of Scripture!

Besides all this, they continue to teach that we are all RANDOMLY selected by God –some for eternal life (Heaven), and some for eternal death (Hell). This also is a flat-out lie, antithetical to who God truly is and what His Word most certainly says He has done for us. This is a false way of salvation, and it is a false god they speak of. Therefore, Calvinism needs to be charged as heresy.

I will add one other aspect about God’s attribute of love: He loves because He truly and deeply loves. Is that not how and why we love our children? We are God’s children and He certainly has a much greater capability to love purely than do we! Then what is this about “God loves us that He may bring Himself glory”? He can get glory from hosts of angels. Creation itself glorifies Him. (Ps. 19:1-4) Even the rocks will cry out in praise if nothing else does! He does not need us to love Him “in order to gain glory.” That is an additional pleasure to Him, but it was NOT the purpose of Him loving us! Should I accuse you of loving your children in order to bring yourself glory? God gets glory from humans loving Him, because in so doing, they obey Him and thus please Him. (John 14:15) But He loves us just as any parent loves his children (–and more!) He loves because He loves, because He is loving, and even better than any earthly father –He loves because He IS love. It is just another one of those false teachings propagated by Calvinists: That God loves in order to glorify Himself. Would any logical person believe that to be TRUE love? “I will love someone else SO THAT I may gain glory for myself.” What a concept! Try that one on the girl you’re trying to woo for your wife! I think if she knew that hidden motive, she’d flee!

Like I’ve said before, Calvinists consistently defame God’s righteous attributes… His completely pure character…

And they wonder why we find their doctrines so repugnant.
