Door Shut On The Unfaithful

“As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man. For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark; and they knew nothing about what would happen until the flood came and took them all away. That is how it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.” (Matt. 24:37-39)

The Ark still sits there –in the middle of the dry desert of our doomed world– and the majority laughs, for they are blind to the tsunami speeding toward us. But the door is still open a little while longer… and as Jesus says, “I am the door. If anyone enters through Me, he will be saved…” (John 10:9) Then the true and faithful church, though scattered and few, and who have entered through that Door, will continue to abide inside that (only) way of escape. They will continue to walk by faith, living in Him, worshipping Him, as they wait. And as Jesus says, “All men will hate you because of Me, but he who stands firm to the end will be saved.” (Mark 13:13)

Yes. There is also a door at the end… It’s called: “FAITHFUL”. And “faithful” means (from Webster’s Dictionary): “Full of F -A – I -T – H” and “Steadfast in or in observance of duty; conscientious; bound to a promise; true to the facts or to an original.” We are “rescued by Jesus from the dominion of darkness” (see Col. 1:13), but only “he who overcomes will not be hurt at all by the second death… [for it is] to him who overcomes and does My will to the end… [that] I will never erase his name from the book of life…” (Rev. 2:11,26 & 3:5) Yes, we must remain faithful in Him –“continuing in His kindness. Otherwise, you also will be cut off.” (Rom. 11:22)

But… the Spirit of Christ Jesus says to the FAITHFUL church: “I know your deeds. See, I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut. I know that you have little strength, yet you have kept My word and have not denied My name… Since you have kept My command to endure patiently, I will also keep you from the hour of trial that is going to come upon the whole world to test those who live on the earth.” (Rev. 3:8,10)

Sadly, though, MANY, because they “refused to love the truth and so be saved” (2 Thes. 2:10), even now grope about, trying “to enter but are not able to.” “Someone asked Him [Jesus], ‘Lord, are only a few people going to be saved?’ He said to them, ‘Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ But He will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with You, and You taught in our streets.’ But He will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from Me, all you evildoers!’ There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth…” (Luke 13:23-28) Those who are trying to enter, will not only be those who are in cults or false religions, but they will also be those who sit Sunday after Sunday listening to teachings from the Bible… but… –do not obey it.

So: “Rid yourselves of every filthy habit and all wicked conduct. Humbly accept the Word planted in you, which can save you. [The Word saves, because The Word of God is also Jesus*, who is the only door to salvation.*] Do not merely listen to the Word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says.” (James 1:21,22) As Jesus says in John 14:15, “If you love Me, you will obey what I command.” For “the man who says, ‘I know Him,’ but does not do what He commands is a liar, and the truth is not in him… This is how we know we are in Him: Whoever claims to live in Him must walk as Jesus did.” (1 John 2:4-6)

For as Jesus warns in Matt. 7:26,27, “Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not put them into practice is like a foolish man who built his house on sand. The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and it fell with a great crash.”

May OUR souls not fall with a great crash.
