Quit The Backsliding

God’s Word, if we are reading it, constantly reminds us to walk in righteousness. It also consistently warns us to not walk with sinners nor partake of their “delicacies”, for in so doing we will be led astray. However, many so-called “Christians” are paying no attention. Instead, they play with sin and think it’s really funny to jest with the foul mouthed and compete with the dirty minded. Even though Scripture clearly commands complete purity of action, speech, and thought.

God says in Jer. 44:4-6, “Again and again I sent My servants the prophets, who said, ‘Do not do this detestable thing that I hate!’ But they did not listen or pay attention; they did not turn from their wickedness or stop burning incense to other gods. Therefore, My fierce anger was poured out…” Most deny that they have other gods. But they do. Whatever takes our time, our energy, our affection, our admiration, or our money is a god. And if that is not God Most High, along with the reading of His Word, with prayer, and with our worship to Him, then we break the first commandment… to our own peril.

“‘You have rejected Me,’ declares the LORD. ‘You keep on backsliding. So I will lay hands on you and destroy you; I can no longer show compassion.” (Jer. 15:6) Why? Because “If we deliberately keep on sinning after we have received the knowledge of the truth, no sacrifice for sins is left, but only a fearful expectation of judgment and of raging fire that will consume the enemies of God.” (Heb. 10:26,27) And who are the enemies of God? James 4:4 says, “Anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” Unfortunately, most “Christians” are very much friends with the world.

Sadly, they do not see the Judgment they speed toward.

So, “if sinners entice you, do not give in to them.” (Prov. 1:10)

Leave them.

with love,
