Door Shut On The Disobedient

Friends,
“The kingdom of heaven is like a King who prepared a wedding banquet for His Son. He sent His servants to those who had been invited to the banquet to tell them to come, but they refused to come.” (Matt. 22:2,3) These were they who threw the invitation in the trash.

But others seemed to accept: “At that time the kingdom of heaven will be like ten virgins who took their lamps and went out to meet the Bridegroom.” (Notice, ALL ten were waiting for him.) “…The virgins who were ready went in with Him to the wedding banquet. And the door was shut. Later the others [who had gotten sidetracked] also came. ‘Sir! Sir!’ they said. ‘Open the door for us!’ But He replied, ‘I tell you the truth, I don’t know you.'” (Matt. 25:1,10-12) And He did NOT open the door…

Jesus says in Luke 13:24-28, “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door, because many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able to. Once the Owner of the house gets up and closes the door, you will stand outside knocking and pleading, ‘Sir, open the door for us.’ But He will answer, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from.’ Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with You, and You taught in our streets.’ But He will reply, ‘I don’t know you or where you come from. Away from Me, all you evildoers!’ There will be weeping there, and gnashing of teeth…”

For judgment “will happen when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven in blazing fire with His powerful angels. He will punish those who do not know God and do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus. They will be punished with everlasting destruction and shut out from the presence of the Lord…” (2 Thes. 1:7-9) Again, I ask: Do you really know the Lord –through His Word, through the blood of Jesus, through His Holy Spirit…? AND –does He know YOU? Do you obey God’s Word, the words of Jesus, and what the Holy Spirit nudges you about…? Or does Jesus look at you–right now–and say, “Why do you call Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and do not do what I say?” (Luke 6:46)

For as Jesus says, “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but only he who does the will of My Father… I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you. Away from Me, you workers of iniquity!” (Matt. 7:21,23)

Let’s remember: Words are absolutely nothing if they are not backed up by action.

Sincerely,
With love,
Rachel
