Bold In The Word!

I’d like to encourage us all to use our zeal, talents, knowledge, and “participation in the divine nature” (2 Peter 1:4) to speak God’s “word with great boldness” (Acts 4:29) by which “we demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God.” (2 Cor. 10:4,5) “The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds.” (–beginning of v. 4) Romans 1:16 tells us that it is the GOSPEL that “is the power of God for the salvation of everyone who believes.”

Contrary to what many even in the church are saying, our most glorious weapon for TRUTH is the Word of God!!! (See Heb. 4:12) And THAT coupled with the name of Jesus (see Phil. 2:9-11), the Holy Spirit’s counsel concerning what Jesus said (as recorded in the Bible –see John 14:26), as well as OBEDIENCE to Him, His Word, and His Spirit. (John 14:15 / 2 John 1:6 / 1 Peter 1:2) Many so-called “Christians” are into intellectualism, mysticism, and/or experience. However, these are weak avenues to truth, and can actually be the means to distract and deceive.

Meditating on, applying it, and submitting oneself to the Word (which is actually Jesus –as John 1:1,14 & Rev. 19:13 tells us), is actually the WAY in which we stay “strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” (Eph. 6:10) It is the means by which we “put on the full armor of God” (see v. 11 & 13) “so that” we can resist “the devil’s schemes” (v. 11) and stand strong “when the day of evil comes.” (v.13) (Especially that main one that rushes toward us like a tsunami!) Furthermore, it is the Word of God that is the main conduit by which to commune with His Holy Spirit, enabling believers to pray in faith, live righteously, and witness in power!!! Unfortunately, many are not doing this. Why? Because they will not soak themselves in the Word (Jesus).

Instead, Christendom births and pampers scrawny, weak, sickly-looking (and sickly-acting), complacent “Christians” who “live as enemies of the cross of Christ.” (Phil. 3:18) And because they have so many other gods (idols) they are serving, they don’t have time to feed off the Word. “Their mind is on earthly things” (v. 19) as they would rather fellowship with, and walk in, the counsel of… well… —
ANYONE they so choose (see Ps. 1:1,2)– whether it be a psychologist, big-name author, “prophet”, or even a rock star. Such a person, comparing himself to the world, rather than to God’s holiness (even though 1 Peter 1:15,16 reminds us that He has commanded holiness from us in ALL we do), instead “flatters himself too much to detect or hate his sin.” (Ps. 36:2) And why is that? Verse 1 tells us: Because “there is no fear of God before his eyes.”

“Christians” need to wake up and realize that “anyone who chooses to be a friend of the world becomes an enemy of God.” (James 4:4) And “if anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is NOT in him.” (1 John 2:15) Such a deceived one “tramples the Son of God under foot, treats as an unholy thing the blood of the covenant that sanctified him, and insults the Spirit of grace.” (See Heb. 10:29) Yet God’s true children are expected to tolerate THAT in the name of love and unity?! Right! No, truth has NO unity with error. It’s an impossibility! So any unifying done under error (and lies) is just a false unity.

Let’s abide by Eph. 5:6 which says, “Let no one [even our trusted dear friends or family] deceive you with empty words, [even “sweet” words] for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient. Therefore do not be partners with them.” And verse 11 says, “Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather EXPOSE them.” There comes a time when we just MUST obey these verses in a firm, strong way and “fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience. [For] some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith.” (1 Tim. 1:18,19)

So, may we all hold high the Truth and The Wonderful Light of the World! For the Light exposes “whatever is concealed [and it] is meant to be brought out into the open.” (See Mark 4:21,22) That is how we confront and expose lies and error. So may we do so whenever we see it. Why? Because error can kill. And lies can damn.

Grace, courage, and boldness to you,

In His Word.

Love, Rachel
