The Holy Spirit Life

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in Him, to the one who SEEKS Him.” (Lam. 3:25)

I have had many people telling me they are in bondage of some form. But I do not believe this needs to be the case for those who want out! We have the Creator and God of the Universe who loves us and has already provided freedom! “It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.” (Gal. 5:1) For as Rom. 6:18,22 tells us, “You have been set free from sin and have become slaves to righteousness… [and] the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life.” “So I say, live by the Spirit and you will not gratify the desires of the sinful nature.” (Gal. 5:16)

How do we live by the Spirit? By being thirsty enough, desperate enough, sick enough of our sin and bondage, to come to Jesus who said in John 7:37-39, “’If anyone is thirsty, let him come to Me and drink. Whoever believes in Me, as the Scripture has said, streams of living water will flow from within him.’ By this He meant the Spirit, whom those who believed in Him were later to receive.” We come to Jesus by repenting –truly turning our backs on our sins– and in complete helplessness, giving Him the reins of our life.

So it is: Believe, trust, humbly submit to God, pray, praise Him with thanksgiving, eat (read) His Word daily as spiritual food, and resist the enemy by calling on the name of Jesus and the power of His blood. (***See verses to support all these in the upcoming post.) Those of us that are born anew (see John 3:3) are in a new kingdom and are to use “His incomparably great power for us who believe. That power…which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead…” (Eph. 1:19,20) (That is no small power!!!) “For the kingdom of God is not a matter of talk but of POWER.” (1 Cor. 4:20) We are absolutely NOT of those “having a form of godliness but denying its power.” (2 Tim. 3:5) “For He has rescued us from the dominion of darkness and brought us into the kingdom of the Son He loves…” (Col. 1:13) and we have “crossed over from death to life” (John 5:24) –that is, that we “may have life, and have it to the full.” (John 10:10) Yes!!!!!!!!!

“His divine power has given us everything we need for life and godliness through [WHAT?–] our knowledge of Him…” (2 Peter 1:3) So get to know Him better. Seek Him. Spend time with Him. Walk with Him. You will WANT to obey Him!!!! Because His “love is definitely better than life!” (Ps. 63:3) That’s living by the Spirit!

Grace and peace to you,
